integrated gardens
The design creates space for three seperate garden areas. At the front of the house is a garden providing quality street presence and privacy. The rear garden area provides a combination of leisure space , room for fruit trees and vegetable beds. Between the main and garage pod is a lushly planted subtropical garden which helps cool the air before it flows through the main pod. This garden is biophillic and offers a seperate protected space to enjoy.
Layout & FORM
The layout is designed to exploit natural means to control the internal environment. The benefit of three seperate pods allows the house to take advantage of orientation and solar aspect. The smaller footprints enable all rooms to have cross ventilation and extensive glazing and openable windows are carefully oriented to control the quality of light and solar penetration.
